Changing Your Projects Dimensions Midstream
In the last tutorial we learned how to set our projects dimensions up before we started our project.  But what happens if we would like to change our projects dimensions after we start.  We have two options in Design that make it real easy to do.

1)  Open a new project and set it to 200 x 200.

2)  Now draw a 150 x 150 square.  So far you should have what I have to the right.

3)  Our 1st option, Art Board Size is if we want all of our objects to remain the same size and just increase the size of our project.  Go to File / Art Board Size and a new window will appear. Microsoft Expression Design
4)  For this exercise click in the Width Dialogue Box and type in 300. Microsoft Expression Design
5)  To the right you see my project.  You will notice the Art Board has increased in width by 100 pixels yet the height of the Art Board and the dimensions of the Square remained the same.  Microsoft Expression Design
6)  The 2nd way to change our projects dimensions is to go to File / Document Size.  This feature works differently than Art Board.  With this feature all the objects in our project will increase along with the Art Board. Microsoft Expression Design
7)  To the right is the Document Size Window.  For fun, click in the width and type in 200 and we will see what happens. Microsoft Expression Design
8)  As you notice with this method the Art Board has now decreased in width but the square has also decreased in width creating a rectangle.

So in conclusion the rules are simple.  If you want just the Project Area to increase use the Art Board Method.  If you want your whole creation to increase in size use the Document Size method.
